ALL ABOUT JOHN

Boldness and Ingenuity

Service
Although having service-connected disabilities, in 2009, Dr. Stanford began serving Veterans through the U. S. Veterans Initiative. Served at the national level on the Board of Directors (2011-2019), the state level (2014-2019), and locally (2009-present). He devoted considerable time and money to his alma mater (Tuskegee University) at the local, regional, and national level. His company Panjo Investments supported numerous activities and organizations in the League City and Clear Lake Texas area. In 2012, Dr. Stanford received the “B-Excellent Award for Leadership and Excellence” given by the Bethel’s Place Chamber of Commerce.

Philanthropy
Dr. Stanford’s philanthropic activities are far-reaching and many. Two of the most prominent are his support of Tuskegee University – earning him the status of an inaugural member of the Tuskegee University 1881 Society and his support of Sisters Network, Inc. Other notable activities are (1) support of St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, (2) support of Texas Children’s Hospital (Houston, TX), (3) a charted-life member of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and (4) Lifetime member of the NAACP.

Entrepreneurship
Dr. Stanford’s entrepreneurship road has been rocky and rewarding. In 2007, he funded an after-school and weekend entertainment center for school age children in Beaumont, TX. After impacts from Tropical Storm Edouard (Aug. 5,2008) and Hurricane Gustav (Sep. 1, 2008), the center was permanently closed. In May 2013, he launched MJWJ Global Radio Network – an internet, urban radio station featuring 24-hour broadcasting. After three years, the station ceased operations. In 2017, he joined his wife with Foston International Communications, Inc. as the Chief Executive Officer.
